English Pointers Pet Portrait In Graphite Pencil.

Here is my latest work, the best of friends, English Pointers.
I was very lucky to have such a great reference photo, I love the pose!

Pointers are very close to my own heart, since we used to have a German Shorthaired Pointer, Tasha until we lost her a few years ago.
She was such an intelligent, loyal & gentle soul, and I really enjoyed doing this portrait, it brought back so many fond memories......

Hello & Welcome To My Blog!

I’m currently working on a kitten close up in coloured pencil on Fabriano paper.

Step by step pictures on my portrait will follow as it takes shape.

I've done quite a lot on this piece recently, but there's still alot more layers of colour to add, particularly around the mouth and chin area, and loads more to do with the background.

Barney and Harry Best Friends Pet Portrait

I was recently commissioned to do a portrait of these two best friends, Barney & Harry.

The lady that commissioned it told me that is was for a tribute portrait for her sister, as sadly a few days earlier her beloved greyhound was attacked by two dogs, and tragically died the next day leaving her heartbroken.

I hope this helps to lift her spirits a little.....
