Forrest Flat Coater Retriever Pet Portrait Work In Progress

"Win A Pet Portrait Competition" -  Portrait So Far.......

You may remember in June I announced the Win A Pet Portrait winning entry. A lovely flat coated retriever called Forrest.

The portrait is taking shape, and I'm posting updates as it progresses.
I'm using Prismacolour & Polychromos coloured pencils on Fabriano paper.

I've worked on the portrait some more, adding the ears and more detail around the mouth.

The portraits almost complete, just a few additions here and there strengthening the dark areas a little more, and then finally, redifine the whiskers so they stand out.

Here is the completed portrait - see it in more detail in my coloured pencil gallery.

Barney lhasa Apso Pet Portrait

Meet Barney, he is half lhasa Apso and half Shitzu.
His owner commissioned me recently to do a portrait of her beloved dog, and asked me to sit Barney on a chair which she provided a photo of, so it would match another portrait she already had, of a previous dog she owned.

I made a few adjustments to the way Barney was sitting, and the finished portrait follows, in graphite pencil on Fabriano paper.
